Shiatsu
Shiatsu massage identifies specific points useful for promoting sleep. Use gentle but firm pressure with the thumb in each of the areas described below (known as
tsubos).
Tsubo B25
Press three times for five to seven seconds on the points about 4cm (1.5 in) to either side between the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae.
Tsubo GV 20
Use both thumbs to press firmly downward for 10 to15 seconds at the center of the head at the point in line with the upper edge of the ears.
Tai yo
Press with one thumb for seven to ten seconds on points about one finger's width to the side of each eyebrow, between the end of the eyebrow and the outer edge of the eye.
Tsubo Kl
Use both thumbs to press hard and inward for 10 to 15 seconds on a point on the sole of the foot about a third of the distance from the tip of the middle toe to the heel, between the second and third toe joints.
