for Cardiomyopathy
Eat a well balanced diet that's high in whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
Control the intake of salt and water
Check your blood pressure daily and get treatment if it is
high.
Monitor your weight. Manage your weight.
Avoid excess consumption of alcohol. Alcohol depletes the body of nutrients. It is toxic on the heart. If you have to drink, do not drink more than two drinks a day. Binge drinking is particularly hard on the heart.
Take the following nutritional supplements:
Co Q10 - 120 to 360 milligrams of coenzyme Q10 a day, taken in doses of no more than 180 milligrams at a time.
Magnesium 400 milligrams/day
Selenium 50-200 micrograms/day
Vitamin E 400 international units/day
Limit strenuous activities to give a
chance for your heart to catch-up. Bedrest may be
necessary in some cases.
Caution: Cardiomyopathy
