Reflexology
The best antidote for stress and anxiety is relaxation.
One of the best technique to accomplish this is by giving yourself a foot massage or foot rub.
A reflexologist will address the central nervous system, brain, solar plexus, neck and shoulder reflexes. Work the diaphragm reflex on your feet, spine, the pituitary,
parathyroid, thyroid and adrenal gland reflex points.
Press the following points twice per day until
the stress is relieved:
1. Keeping your eyes closed and breathing deeply press on the solar plexus point
for a full minute. Thumb walking across the diaphragm line.
2. Work on the entire chest area (including the lungs and heart).
This helps regulate breathing and heart rate that has been knocked out of balance when we are anxious. Use the thumb walk technique in this area.
3. Locate the spine reflexes. These are located on the inside edge of both feet (zone 1), extending from the heel nearly to the top of the large toe, opposite the root of the toenail.
Work on the spine reflexes, working slowly up the foot using the thumb walk technique.
Apply a little extra pressure on the thick skin of the heel area.
Thumb walk all the way down the spinal reflex
area. Then thumb walk across small areas horizontally, moving up the foot from the heel to the big toe.
4. Work on some of the key endocrine glands, including the pituitary (in the center of the bottom of the big toe), the thyroid (at the base of the big toe), and the adrenals (between the waist line and the diaphragm line, toward the inside of the foot). Working these areas will promote balance in the body and nervous system and help relieve your anxiety.
