This herb is a powerful laxative, driving out stagnation of water, food, and damp heat conditions, as well as eliminating intestinal worms. It is also effective when there is stagnation of phlegm causing cough and wheezing.

Dosage:
3-9 grams in decoction.
1.5-3 grams used alone as a powder.

Safety:
Pharbitidis should not be used by pregnant women and should be avoided by those with deficiency of the spleen or stomach.
