Herbal Tonics / Combinations

Narayana Taila

This Ayurvedic remedy is recommended for consumption, emaciation of children and rheumatism and as an enema in dysentery and anal fistulae.

Ingredients

Group 1: 

Take 2 parts each of the following:

Ashvagandha (withania somnifera)
root of Sida corvolia
Aegle marmelos
Cissampelos pareira
Solanum jacquini
Pedalium murex
Melia azadirachta
root of Calosanthes indica
Boerhavia diffusa
Clerodendron phlomoides

Group 2

sesame oil - 40 parts
Daemia extensa (uterance) paste - 10 parts

Group 3

2 parts each of the following:

Acacia catechu
Cardamoms
Nardostachys jatamansi
Acorus calamus
Clematis triloba
Pterocarpus santalinus (red)
rock salt
Withania sornnifera
Tylophora asthmatica
Foeniculum vulgare
Pinus deodara
Desmodium gangeticum
Uraria picta
Valeriana hardwickii

Procedure
Make a decoction from items in group 1. To this add group 2 and group 3 ingredients. Mix well. Boil for one hour.

Application
This Ayurvedic remedy is recommended for internal administration. Start with 3 drops daily. Increase the dosage by 1 drop per day to a maximum of 10 drops daily. 

Useful in consumption, emaciation of children and rheumatism and as an enema in dysentery and anal fistulae.
