Thyme (Thymus
vulgaris)
Thyme is one of the best antiseptic substances available. It is valuable in the treatment of infections. Traditionally, thyme is used as a cough remedy.
Thyme has a high concentration of volatile oils, which include thymol. This volatile oil is highly antiseptic.

Safety
Thyme is a safe herb to use, even for young children and during pregnancy.
Avoid excessive consumption. It can cause overstimulation of the thyroid and precipitate symptoms of poisoning.
Recommended Dosage
Take as an infusion (tea) or as a tincture (liquid extract).Pour a cup of boiling water over two teaspoonfuls of the leaves.
Allow to infuse for fifteen minutes. Drink three times daily.
Tincture
Take ten to fifteen drops (two to four milliliters) three times daily.
